Y6 running late

November 13, 2009
6:30 update.  We're running about an hour late as we caught a later ferry.  Just passed through the Blackwall tunnel (rush hour in London).
We'll use the phone tree from now to give precise pick up times - we'll be roughly an hour later than we arranged.
Parents please wait in infant hall.  Children will be brought straight into the hall while luggage is unloaded.  Please don't crowd the coach while we're unloading and keep the pavement clear of cars so we can park up. If you'd like to to help ...

Y6 just got off the ferry

November 13, 2009
Y6 are back in England and have just got off the ferry in Dover (5:15).  It was quite a rough crossing and everyone's tired but happy too.  We'll post an estimated time of arrival when they stop at the services - phone tree will operate as planned.

Our Final Blog

November 13, 2009
Yesterday we had activities in the morning, a visit to the chocolate factory and goat's farm in the afternoon, dinner with frog's legs and snails followed by a disco.  The kids we spellbound as they heard how chocolate is made from sour tasting cocoa pods into lovingly hand-crafted chocolates.  We were very lucky at the goat farm as they let us milk the goats and watch it being turned into cheese.  Some kids were even brave enough to to milk the goats, collect the milk in their hands and drin...

Group 3's Diary

November 12, 2009
We have just done the Zip wire over water.  The instructor, Dave, kept joking that there were crocodiles in the water.  When Mr Souter went on it he shouted "Help! Help! Mummy!".  Everyone in the group went on it at least once but some of us thought it was terrifying.  It was fantastic.  We also did the Blind Trail which was soooo cool.  Allana was in front and kept walking us into trees, she went off course into a pile of nettles.  She kept going and led us all to safety.  TJ bounced off a t...

Thurday's mud update

November 12, 2009
Today we did the Blind Trail - it was really exciting and strange because we didn't know what was coming up in front of us.  We kept walking into trees and wanted to take our blindfolds off.  We had to communicate and trust our friends but we all managed to get around the course without too serious damage!  If we got caught cheating we got sprinkled with water - Mr Souter has really good aim!  Lydia M particularly enjoyed rolling around in the mud, Nikhil shouted so much he is loosing his voi...

Wednesday Update

November 11, 2009
Tour of Rue today was brilliant! We saw the rememberance parade through the town and placed some flowers from Marlcliffe on the memorial. We learned all about the history of the chateau which was occupied by German Officers in World War 2. You can still see the bullet holes and the name of a German soldier carved into the window frame of the chateau. In the afternoon there were more activities including the chateau olympics. Off to the goat farm and chocolate factory tomorrow! The children ar...

Campfire Adventure

November 10, 2009
When we got to the campfire, we roasted marshmallows speared on long twigs on the fire.  They tasted very gooey and very flammable (says Sam!).  He thinks they tasted of Tippex.  After that we sang a range of weird campfire songs including a song about Mrs Fearnehough's crazy moose, SpongeBob and Bob the Builder.  Mr Souter of course, added some in French.  Maia, Sophie, Clare, Sam and TJ were brave enough to stand up and lead the whole group in their own songs.  We kept ourselves warm with r...
