Homework set 5.3.10

March 5, 2010

Homework for w/e 5.3.10 (due 17th March)

English

Mr Cooper’s group

Come up with, and write about, a new event that could have happened to Gulliver in Lilliput or Brobdingnag.

Mr Brooks/Miss Wood’s group

Write about an event that has happened to Gulliver so far in the book.

Both groups can aim to include at least one ‘WoW’ word from their notebooks. As explained in the accompanying letter, this will be a project that continues for the duration of this half term.

Maths

Mr Cooper’s group

Calculate the area of the floor in at least one room of your house (measure the length and width, then multiply together). If you don’t have anything to measure the lengths and widths with, you could estimate them or use a non-standard unit of measure such as handspans.

Mr Brooks/Miss Wood’s group

Complete the worksheet given out in class.
